Participant Waiver and Release of Liability:

By registering for and participating in The Responder Round-Up, I acknowledge and agree to the following: 

I understand that participation in this event may include lectures, demonstrations, hands-on skills practice, water-based activities, rescue simulations, physical movement, interaction with training equipment, and other activities that may involve inherent risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to, physical exertion, slips, falls, contact with equipment, water-related hazards, transportation risks, illness, or other unforeseen injuries or damages.

I certify that I am voluntarily choosing to participate and that I am physically and mentally able to do so. I understand that it is my responsibility to determine whether I am fit to participate in any portion of the event. If at any time I feel unable to participate safely, I will stop and notify event staff.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, and discharge The Lifeguard Project, The Responder Round-Up, event organizers, hosts, instructors, speakers, staff, volunteers, sponsors, venue partners, affiliated agencies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to my participation in the event, including but not limited to claims for personal injury, illness, death, property damage, or other loss, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, except where prohibited by law.

I understand that this release applies to all event activities, whether conducted indoors, outdoors, on land, or in or around water environments. 

I further agree to assume full responsibility for my own actions, safety, and personal property during the event. I understand that event organizers reserve the right to remove any participant whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or inconsistent with the mission and standards of the event.

I acknowledge that this agreement is binding upon me, my heirs, executors, administrators, assigns, and personal representatives.

By checking the box below, I confirm that I have carefully read this waiver and release, fully understand its contents, and voluntarily agree to its terms.

Media Release

1. Consent: I hereby grant to Verathon Inc. (“Verathon”), the absolute and irrevocable right and permission, with respect to the photographs and/or video taken of me alone or with others, to use, reuse, publish, and re-publish the same in whole or in part, individually or in conjunction with other photographs or video; in combination with any printed matter, or electronic matter, and for any other lawful purpose; and to use my name in conjunction therewith, whether captured or created by Verathon directly, or by those acting under Verathon’s direction.

2. Release: I hereby release any current or future financial interest in, and any physical or intellectual control of, the media to Verathon, its successors, assigns and designees so that it may use the media freely and at its discretion, without the need to obtain additional permission the duration 7 years of release, restricted to B2B marketing - website, standard social, email, and promotional marketing. No broadcast usage. 

3. Authorization and Waiver: I hereby authorize the unrestricted reproduction of my voice and/or likeness in connection with the use or manipulation of the media by Verathon or those acting with Verathon’s permission and authority, for all purposes, including without limitation, transmission, advertising, art, promotion, solicitation or trade. Additionally, I hereby waive any right to approve the eventual use or purpose to which the media may be applied; or to inspect or approve the finished images, videos, advertising copy, artwork, materials, or other audio or visual matter resulting from the media’s implementation, use or manipulation, whether in its original form or processed, altered, blurred, distorted, combined with, or used in conjunction with any other media, and will hold Verathon, its successors, assigns and designees harmless and indemnify same against any claims or demands arising therefrom.

4. Entire Agreement: This release constitutes the sole and complete agreement between Verathon and the undersigned individual and shall be governed by the laws of the state of Washington, without reliance on any other warranty, guarantee, or representation, whether oral or written.

By signing this release, I affirm that I am of the age of majority and have the right to contract in my own name, and that I have read the foregoing and fully understand the contents thereof. This release shall be binding upon me and my heirs, legal representatives, and assigns.
